Intro

Qbet was created during a Parimatch x Megogo hackathon as a mobile product concept focused on onboarding new users into betting through user-generated content. The idea was to make betting feel more familiar, social, and easier to understand by combining short-form content with lightweight betting mechanics.

Problems

Betting feels difficult for new users, but prediction behavior already exists

New users often struggle to understand how betting works, where to start, and why they should trust the process. Traditional betting products usually focus on odds, markets, and transactions, but they often miss a softer onboarding layer that explains betting through familiar content and social context.

At the time, prediction-based livestreams were gaining traction: thousands of viewers watched creators, guessed outcomes like the next card, and joined for a chance to win multiplied rewards.

Hard first step

New users do not always understand how to place their first bet.

Complex betting language

Odds, markets, outcomes, and match logic can feel intimidating.

Low trust

Betting can feel risky if users do not understand the process.

Lack of context

Users need a more familiar entry point before making betting decisions.

Idea

Use UGC as a soft onboarding layer for betting

The concept used short-form UGC content to introduce betting in a more social and understandable way. Instead of starting from complex odds and betting markets, users could discover content, understand the context, and move into simple betting actions more naturally.

+500M Audience Opportunity

Bring short-form audiences from TikTok, Reels, Shorts etc into a simple prediction app built around familiar behavior: watch, choose, and see the result.

Extremely simple interface

Users choose between two actions and instantly understand the event, outcome, and next step.

Risk-free prediction game

Play with virtual tokens earned in-app, making betting safer and easier to try.

Outcome

Delivered in 3 days and won the hackathon

In just 3 days, we designed and built a working mobile prototype, prepared a lightweight style guide, uploaded the app to TestFlight, tested the concept with mentors, and won the hackathon.

The final result was a complete product concept showing how UGC, short-form content, and simple prediction mechanics can make betting onboarding more accessible for new users.
